The
challenge
Reliable information on menstrual and reproductive health is hard to find. YeneHealth wanted women to track their cycles, get personal insights and learn, privately, from their phone.
Yaltopia Tech designed and developed YeneHealth, a digital women's health platform focused on menstrual tracking, reproductive health education and access to health information.
Through the platform and associated digital literacy initiatives, over 100 women actively use the app to track their health, while more than 200 women have been trained on digital health tools and menstrual health awareness.
How we
did it
YeneHealth is a fem-tech startup focused on adolescent girls’ and women’s sexual and reproductive health. In Ethiopia, accurate, stigma-free information on these topics is hard to find, and the subject itself calls for privacy and care. YeneHealth needed a product that felt welcoming while handling sensitive topics responsibly.

Our approach
Research in 2022 led to a design built around privacy and clarity: a calm interface for logging and predicting cycles, personal insights based on each woman’s own history, and an education library written for clarity rather than jargon.
We built the app for Android, iOS and web, and gave YeneHealth brand-aligned UI components and a flexible content structure so their team can keep publishing and adding services. Because a tool only helps if people use it, Yaltopia also ran in-person training on digital health tools and menstrual health awareness.
The outcome
More than 100 women actively use the app to track their health, and over 200 women have been trained through the programme, which is ongoing. The platform is also the technical foundation for YeneHealth’s future digital health services.
